I was asked to bake a 6 inch cake for the top of a cupcake tower. I decided to really jazz it up by making it a flower cake. The flowers are all hand made with butter cream. I added strawberry purée to the butter cream for added flavor. The cake is a strawberry cake. I cut 2 cupcakes in half and placed them on top of the cake to make the dome shape. The cupcakes are German Chocolate and key lime topped with matching hand made buttercream flowers.
The mermaid theme is popular this year. This is my third opportunity to decorate with the mermaid theme. The cake is red velvet with cream cheese frosting and the cupcakes are vanilla with butter cream frosting.
Red Velvet is the most popular cake I make and now the cake pops are becoming just as popular. The pops taste great dipped in chocolate or vanilla. My treats are all made from scratch and they are moist and delicious.
These are a delightful and delicious treat for a baby shower. The cupcakes are red velvet, Key Lime and strawberry. I made the fins by melting vanilla wafers and putting it into a mermaid fin mold. I used edible color spray and glitter to add additional colors.
