I was asked to bake a 6 inch cake for the top of a cupcake tower. I decided to really jazz it up by making it a flower cake. The flowers are all hand made with butter cream. I added strawberry purée to the butter cream for added flavor. The cake is a strawberry cake. I cut 2 cupcakes in half and placed them on top of the cake to make the dome shape. The cupcakes are German Chocolate and key lime topped with matching hand made buttercream flowers.
Although I try not to make cakes, I sometimes give in when asked nicely. This is a three layer Key Lime cake. It has graham cracker crumbs on the bottom and frosted with key lime flavored buttercream. The decorations are made using candy molds.
The mermaid theme is popular this year. This is my third opportunity to decorate with the mermaid theme. The cake is red velvet with cream cheese frosting and the cupcakes are vanilla with butter cream frosting.
This is a wonderfully delicious way to say welcome home to a soldier. Although it totally looks like a sheet cake, it’s actually made of strawberry cupcakes. Everything is edible. The dog tags are made of fondant which I spayed with silver edible color spray. The image is an edible image I designed and had printed at my local bakery. The letters are made of melted vanilla wafers and colored with edible spray and food color.
This Moana cake was made for a birthday party. It’s made with 36 cupcakes, 12 each of red velvet, chocolate, and vanilla. The frosting is butter cream and the flowers and leaves are all hand made with butter cream frosting. The lettering is made of strawberry flavored candy melts.
These cupcakes were made to celebrate the birthday of a big fan of the warriors. They are vanilla and chocolate cupcakes topped with butter cream and chocolate frosting. I made the toppers using Avery labels and tooth picks.
